Flows
Flows
A flow describes what the applicant has to provide and how the result is returned. Create and edit flows in the dashboard (owners and admins). Sessions keep working with the settings the flow had when they were created.
Steps
Each step is switched on or off per flow. The order is fixed: ID, selfie, liveness, proof of address.
| Step | What the applicant does |
|---|---|
| ID front | Photographs the front of an accepted document |
| ID back | Photographs the back (needs ID front) |
| Selfie | Takes a photo of their face, for a human reviewer to compare with the document |
| Liveness video | Records a short video following a random challenge |
| Proof of address | Uploads a recent document that shows their address |
At least one step is required. Templates (standard, ID only, ID + liveness, full) pre-fill the choice.
Document rules
- Accepted document types (ID card, passport, residence permit, driving licence) and issuing countries.
- Minimum validity left, and a minimum age if you need an age gate.
- Automatic pre-checks (image quality, MRZ parsing and check digits, expiry, age, per-client duplicates) only flag the submission. A person takes the decision.
Result detail
- Full: decision, reason codes, document data (type, country, expiry, last four characters of the number) and subject data (names, date of birth, nationality) when the flow collects an ID.
- Minimal: decision, reason codes and the
age_over_*flags only. Nothing else is returned, and nothing else is kept in the record.
Retention
Photos and videos are deleted a number of days after the decision (30 by default); the result record is deleted after a number of years (5 by default). You can shorten both, never go past the platform maximum. See Sessions for the timeline.
Privacy and return URLs
- Purpose text: shown to the applicant as the reason for the processing. You decide it, we process on your behalf.
- Privacy policy URL: required.
- Success and failure URLs (https): where the applicant returns after the flow. The
redirect_urlyou send when creating a session must use one of their hosts. - Embed origins: the exact origins allowed to frame the flow. See Embed.
Reviewer instructions
Plain text up to 2,000 characters, shown to our reviewers, for example "Accept only Spanish residents".
Branding
Plans with branding let you set a colour and a logo for the applicant pages.
